Corstorphine Community Council
Community Councils are set up by the local authority and comprise individual, elected community councillors and representatives of local groups. The Corstorphine Community Council works with the City of Edinburgh Council, NHS and Police Scotland to help enhance the local area and to ensure that the views, opinions and concerns those living and working here are being taken into account when decisions on amenities, traffic and planning affecting our neighbourhood are being made. Further information available at their website and Facebook page - http://corstorphinecc.uk/ and https://www.facebook.com/corstorphinecc/.
Planning information is a key part of local community's interaction with the City of Edinburgh Council (CEC). Weekly lists are produced as well as information on consultations. From May 2020, weekly listings of applications and decisions are available from the Council website at: https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/planningweeklylists

2021 Traffic Consultations
Many of us are aware, via the press or an information leaflet delivered to our homes/businesses, or otherwise, of City Council consultations over changes that will affect those living or travelling within Corstorphine in terms of how we get around, parking etc. There have been five key consultations in February and March, two of which have closed and one closes **midnight on 14th March**
Further work on proposed schemes will be based in part on these community and business responses. See details here
Significant changes in traffic management for west Edinburgh have been proposed, the first proposals having been issued in summer 2020 and covering St John's Road, East Craigs and Meadowplace Road. Response deadline for two of these was 14th July. Click here for more details.
2020 Traffic Consultations
On 19th June, a proposal for a Covid-related Temporary Traffic Restriction Order (TTRO) for Corstorphine town centre was notified, with a 5-day response period ending Friday 26th June; a further proposal on this area was received in July. This will have a significant effect on travelling in the local area. Details of the proposal may be found in the email to the Corstorphine Community Council

Update: Spaces for People have notified approval of measures. See details on Traffic Measures page by clicking here.
You may be interested in the information within it on the "Spaces for People" project. As part of the Edinburgh City Council’s plans to deliver short and long-term measures to make it easier and safer for people to get around our streets for essential trips and exercise, they have launched an online mapping tool called ‘Commonplace’. This closed on Monday 29 June. Its purpose was for the public to gather suggestions on specific areas on an interactive map and provide feedback on barriers they’ve experienced, as well as to identify improvements. Further information is available on the Council website at https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/spacesforpeople.
A "filtered permeability" trial at Featherhall, starting in May 2020, was consulted on over a week at the end of May. Maps show the main scheme and an alternative closure point. (15th May 2020). Further meetings of the Community Council and City Council representatives have taken place. Outcomes will be communicated in due course.
An update and illustration is available on the proposed Rowanbank Gardens development at the site of the former Gylemuir Care Home. (8 May 2020) A presentation was made by the developer at the 19th May Corstorphine Community Council meeting, which included design revisions related to the feedback received at the February consultation event at the Corstorphine Hub. It is hoped that a further consultation event may happen in the summer but this is dependent on Covid restrictions.
