Prayer

We are committed to prayer and there are a number of opportunities for us to get involved:

  • Prayer Base: on the first Sunday of each month we meet at 6:30 pm to pray for an hour, for the church, the world and ourselves. Usually we gather in the chancel at church but during the Covid emergency we meet online via Zoom. Joining details available from our church office or Rector.

  • Midweek prayers: at the moment we are offering midday and night prayer online, usually via all our media channels - FacebookYouTube and Periscope. See What's On and the Church Calendar for details.

  • During week beginning Sunday 2 August, the church will not be open for personal prayer.

  • Prayer support for individuals: When we meet in person on a Sunday, this is offered towards the end of services, at the front of the church. Members of the Prayer Ministry Team will be pleased to pray with you for needs, or in giving thanks.

  • Homegroups: at present some of our homegroups are meeting online or otherwise remotely supporting members. This includes times of prayer for individuals, as well as people and situations outside of the group content.

  • Monthly Thursday evening teaching sessions: we usually meet in the hall around the third week of the month but are currently meeting online on an occasional basis. As well as having the opportunity to explore a topical or other theme from a biblical perspective, we take time to pray together.

  • The World Day of Prayer: members of St Thomas' are involved in this annual event.

If you have a pastoral need during the Covid emergency, please make us aware and we will try to assist you.
