What Can I Expect on a Sunday?

We meet in person each Sunday. Our service at 10.30am is streamed online on Facebook and YouTube for those who cannot join us onsite. There are also onsite and online prayer and fellowship events during the week.

Whenever and however you join us, you can expect:

  • A warm and friendly welcome.
  • Our worship style is often informal.
  • Our worship times are usually between 60 and 75 minutes in duration.
  • During that time we read and learn from the Bible.
  • We sing a mix of hymns and more modern songs to and about God; words are projected on to a screen.
  • We use written prayers to help us when we worship but we also often have freedom to express our own prayers too.
  • We pray for the world, the Church, those in need and for one another.

  • Services include the children for the first 15 minutes or so, after which they leave for their "Lighthouse" groups:
    • Creche (0-3yrs) The Creche Room downstairs is available throughout the service with a live audio and video feed;
    • Sparklers (3yrs - P2) meet downstairs in the Crypt;
    • Spotlight (P3-P6) meets in the lower Lennon Rooms.
  • We share Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. A 1662 communion service follows the main service on third Sundays.
  • On the fourth Sunday, we have a Noontide Prayer gathering (after coffee)
  • Our groups for children and young people meet during the service except for when we have all-age worship, currently on the second Sunday.
  • As a way of ending our time together, we serve refreshments in the church hall.
  • We don't worry about what is worn to church!

Accessibility

  • We cone off a lay-by at the church entrance to facilitate easy drop off for those with mobility difficulties and there is a straight path to the door, with no steps.
  • Large print notice sheets and hymn books are available.
  • A hearing loop system is installed.
Please ask one of the stewards if you need any assistance.
