Ministries and Outreach
The church is involved in many ministries and outreach programmes:
Pastoral Care Team
Gifted volunteers with special skills in getting alongside those with pastoral needs.
Prayer Ministry
Confidential prayer offered each Sunday to anyone who asks for this. Team members selected by the rector.
Welcomers
Members of the church who greet worshippers as they arrive at church.
Wardens and stewards
An invited team who see to the practical details of our services - including church security and safety.
Lay readers
Members trained by the diocese to lead services and preach.
Intercessions
Church members who lead our public prayers during sunday services.
Lesson readers
Members volunteer to read the scripture readings at our Sunday services.
Hospitality
Volunteers who serve tea, coffee and help prepare food at various events. Presently led by Philip Busby.
IT Team
A small team of skilful members who run the church’s IT and enhance our public worship.
CYPECS leadership
Members who lead our children’s and young people’s work.
Musicians
A large number of capable and committed musicians and singers who lead us in worship. Present leader is Gillian Brown.
Flower ministry
A valued service where the sunday flowers are distributed by a team to anyone who needs the loving support of the church.
Gardening
A talented group of green-fingered folk who see to the upkeep of the church gardens.
Sacristans
Margaret Mitchell and Gladys Bennett look after the provision of communion elements and vessels.
Communion assistants
Mainly vestry members who assist with the communion cup distribution.
